Stitch a Plate

This is a lovely idea that can be produced just for fun or as an unusual birthday, Christmas or Easter card.

You will need a small paper plate per child, sewing needle and embroidery threads, pens and stickers (optional).

First draw a very simple design on the back of the plate. Now carefully punch holes all around the design with the needle. Next thread the needle and do a simple running stitch all the way round, then go back the other way to fil in the gaps. You can use the pens to add more details, or to decorate the edge of the plate. Stickers look pretty too.
